Top 10 things to do on the Gold Coast
1. Spend a day in the village
Relax poolside, take on our mega waterslide, run wide in the Junior Playground or challenge family and friends to our Ninja Course.
2. Local beaches
Recognised worldwide for over 70kms of never-ending idyllic surf beaches and combined with the sun-drenched climate, the Gold Coast beaches are perfect for swimming, sunbaking and walking along. Experience the sense of freedom and exhilaration like no other, while learning to surf as the power of the ocean carries you towards the white sands of the beach. The folllowing beaches are all within walking distance:
- Miami Beach: 400m walk – Head north up the Gold Coast Highway, cross the road, and take a right at the roundabout, walk to the end of Chairlift Ave, where you will find Miami Beach.
- Nobby Beach: 400m walk – Head north up the Gold Coast Highway, cross the road, and take a right at Heron Ave, walk to the end of of the road, where you will find Nobby Beach. Alternatively, take the scenic 1.5km route from Miami Beach and walk north on the esplanade until you reach Nobby Beach.
- North Burleigh Beach: 1.7km walk – Head south on the Gold Coast Highway, cross the highway at Pacific Ave and continue south, turn left onto Kelly Ave, and turn right onto Gold Coast OCeanway until you reach North Burleigh Beach. Take the scenic 2km walk from Miami Beach, head south on Marine Parade, climb the rainbow stairs to North Burleigh Lookout, and follow the path down the hill until you reach North Burleigh Beach.
- Mermaid Beach: 2.1km walk – Head north up the Gold Coast Highway, take a right at Venice St and walk to the end where you will find Mermaid Beach.
3. Paddleboard at Tallebudgera Creek or Learn to Surf
Bring your boards or hire them from the Hire companies parked year-round on Tallebudgera Beach.
4. Visit the Gold Coast Hinterland
Bushwalks, waterfalls, and wineries. Just 45 minutes west of Nobby Beach Holiday Village, rolling landscapes give way to more than 100,000 hectares of national parks, world heritage-listed rainforests with waterfalls, hiking tracks, and panoramic views of the coast at Tamborine, Lamington, and Springbrook National Parks. Walk through the treetops at O’Reilly’s or enjoy spectacular cascading falls at Purling Brook Falls.

6. Surfers Paradise
A visit to the Gold Coast, is never complete until you visit the famous glitter strip. The nocturnal paradise offers an array of cosmopolitan experiences right on the doorstep of one of the world’s most iconic golden beaches. An array of cafés and restaurants for all tastes and budgets, an eclectic array of shops from stylish boutiques to quirky specialty shops, and home to a multitude of water sports, day spas, bars and clubs.
7. Visit local Playgrounds
The Gold Coast is home to a treasure trove of council mega playgrounds, which have everything from a Jumping Pillow to BMX tracks. Below is a few of our favourite that are nearby:
- Kurrawara Pratten Park, Broadbeach – includes hillside slides, flying fox, climbing nets, and a sandcastle fort.
- Broadwater Parklands, Southport – includes a jumping pillow, rockpool, pedal monorail, and flying fox.
- Deodar Park, Burleigh Waters – BMX track, climbing forts, seven slides, and mini basketball court.
- Frascott Park, Varsity Lakes – two playgrounds in one park, consisting of a flying fox, climbing net, mega slide, merry-go-round, AFL field, and basketball court.
- Schuster Park, Tallebudgera – jungle-themed playground with mega slides, towers, nets, and platforms.
- Pirate Park, Palm Beach – pirate-themed with mega slide, climbing nets, spinning globes, swings, and hidden treasure troves.
- Lagoona Park, Palm Beach – pedal monorail, climbing platforms, pirate ship, and slides.
8. Pizzey Park Skatepark
An Olympic standard skateboarding precinct only a 1.2km walk away. With over 3,000 square metres of skateable surface. perfect for skateboards, scooters, rollerskaters, and BMX.
9. Putt Putt Mermaid Beach

10. Pacific Fair
Window shop till your heart’s content at one of the Gold Coast’s biggest shopping centres, only a short 3km drive away. Take advantage of the free courtesy bus that operates during School Holidays and picks you up at our doorstep. If you are in the mood for more shopping, the Gold Coast is home to numerous shopping precincts. Grab a bargain at Harbour Town Discount Shopping Outlet, or shop till you drop at Westfield Helensvale, Australia Fair, Centro Surfers Paradise, Pacific Fair, Robina Town Centre, or the Billabong Factory Outlet in Ashmore.
